celebrating the past and future

John F. Kennedy our 35th president is well remembered by his famous quote during his inaugural speech " And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." This quote has a great importance of everyday life especially now since we have some "change" in the white house, what this specific part of his speech means to me is that we should not wait for change we should make the change ourselves.

I think JFK's inaugural speech has a lot to do with what our new president Barack Obama, throughout his fight into the white house you heard him say the word change and that s what JFK wanted to do when he was in office in the beginning he said We observe today not a victory of party, but a celebration of freedom -- symbolizing an end, as well as a beginning -- signifying renewal, as well as change. He wanted to change how the world thought of each other he wanted to abolish segregation because he saw that it was time for a change.

I think Obama is a good speech writer and according to this article "Watching the inauguration with a view to the past" he is compared to a few of some of the most memorable speech writers including JFK. People commented on his speaking ability, one said that it reminded her of the Martin L. King's "I Have a Dream" speech. Another women, Susanne Byrnes a filmmaker of Huntington, said she "also thought of the Kennedy years and the challenges another young president now faces". "Kennedy was also breaking boundaries with the civil-rights movement and human rights," she said. So as you can see when Kennedy was in office he influenced a lot of people.

As we are transitioning to the change era something else that needs to change "Environmental Issues Slide in Poll of Public’s Concerns". Now that Obama is in office he has a lot to change, we came a far away from segregation so even though JFK was not in office when this happened he still had an big impact of where Obama is now. One issue that Obama is concerned about is global warming even though according to the polls, "released Thursday by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center, global warming came in last among 20 voter concerns", and “Protecting the environment, which had surged in the rankings from 2006 to 2008, dropped even more precipitously in the poll: only 41 percent of voters called it a top priority, compared with 56 percent last year."

If we don't start making a change on how we think, I think our living space is only going to get worse. Hopefully Barack Obama can live up to his expectations cause their are a lot of people counting on him to the situations we are in now.

Even though I wasn't around when JFK was in office I think he would have been a great president if he had been given a chance to prove it. His mind and heart was in the place and I think that was what previous presidents after him lacked, and I think if we just give Obama a chance to prove himself he to will be a great president.

what i found a vast majority of was information and site's. it is well written and flows really well, minus the few grammar errors it has. I also liked how the info given was not just regarding one of the inaugural speeches but Barack Obama's as well.

what i found to be really well incorporated was the writing. there was a thesis explaining what was going to come in the paper and followed by the three paragraphs she had an ending conclusion although she is missing her citations i can see she made an effort but does not know how to cite Chicago format or any other.

some site's to use for citing your info can be bibme.org or easybib.com. when you are quoting something also be sure that all the quotes follow the same guidelines don't make one quote bigger than the other.

no questions. thank you...
