beloved:honors blog

This is a picture of Oprah Winfrey in th movie beloved she plays the role of Sethe in the book Beloved written by Toni Morrison. Sethe is the main character of this story, they describe her as a strong and devoted woman. She is dedicated to make sure that her kids didnt go through the same tragic events that happened to her in her life as a slave. So she killed her first born daughter who might be the ghost who has been haunting the house for the last 18 years. She tries to runaway a way from her past but ends up running end to it no matter where she is.

Another important character in this book is Denver. In the movie she is played by Kimberly Elise. I think Denver also plays an important role in the book. She is youngest of Sethe's children and the most sensitive of them. She plays a powerful role in the book. They describe her as being intelligent, thoughtful , and emotional. I Think as a character she progresses to being a independent women like her mother.
